Heat Pumps

A heat pump is an air source electric hot water system that is used to heat water for domestic or commercial uses.

A heat pump is like a reverse cycle air conditioner. It takes heat from one area and puts it into another area. To heat water, a heat pump takes heat out of the atmosphere, and transfers this heat to the water that needs heating via a heat exchanger.

Heat pumps use a relatively small amount of electricity to extract heat energy from the air making it at least three times more efficient than a conventional electric or gas water heater.

When installed correctly heat pumps save energy, save money and reduce carbon emissions.
